NUTRITIONAL THERAPY
LET’S GET YOU FEELING BETTER

Welcome to my website. Welcome to making a move in the right direction for you.
Whether its digestive unease, stress, fatigue, weight fluctuation, mood, hormones, or a life changing illness (the list goes on), we’re all are up against something.
I’m here to work with you, so together we can take the stress off your body and bring you back into a state of balance, allowing you to:
- improve or resolve a health complaint
- have a digestive system that works for you, not against you
- feel energetic and joyful, calm and content
- have a strong and resilient body
What is it?
Nutritional Therapy is a process of recovery or increased health through diet and lifestyle, with supplements used as an adjunct to accelerate health. Imagine how a physiotherapist works with physical strain or dysfunction: taking the pressure off, supporting the injury and making a plan moving forward. A nutritional therapist does this on a digestive, metabolic and cellular level: by identifying stressors, addressing imbalances and deficiencies, and providing healing strategies.

How will it benefit me?
Our digestive tract houses around 80% of the immune system, 100 billion nerve cells and produces 95% of serotonin (the happy neurotransmitter). Plus, the bacteria in our gut decides how fat is stored in the body, impacts hunger hormones (like ghrelin which controls appetite) has a two way connection with the brain (hello brain fog), affects histamine levels (maybe itchy skin, maybe headaches, maybe more?), works with the oestrobolome to influence circulating oestrogen levels in the body (which impacts weight, libido, mood and more). So the benefits start by improving gut health.
But that’s not all. With a well functioning digestive system, we can then look to detox the body, support the liver (or kidneys, or brain, or adrenals – its all individual), boost the cells and work on what is presenting next, if anything still is!

About Emma
I studied at The College of Naturopathic Medicine in London, completing my training in 2005. I’m fully registered with the New Zealand Clinical Nutrition Association, as well as numerous British naturopathic and nutrition associations. After moving to New Zealand with my husband in 2010, we settled in the beautiful Kapiti Coast and now have two very Kiwi children. I work from home and my appointments are all now online, via zoom
My area of nutritional therapy focus is wide ranging, working with: digestive complaints, to hormones, to autoimmune, to exhaustion, to child specific issues, to it all really. I’ve seen over and over, once we address the root cause of a symptom the rebalancing can begin and the body can not only regain health but can blossom.
